More temporary park closures in Auckland
More temporary park closures in Auckland, as the battle against kauri dieback continues
3 September 2018
A further eleven parks on the North Shore, will be off limits for three to six months.
Two parks in the area - Kauri Park and Muriel Fisher Reserve - have already been closed for two weeks.
Auckland Council biosecurity manager, Phil Brown, says staff will work to upgrade walking tracks during the closures.
He says board walks will be built in certain areas to prevent the disease being spread by muddy boots.
