The property market in Auckland appears to have sprung back to life with a surge in new listings

Realestate.co.nz says of the more than eight and a half thousand new property listings across the country during August, almost half were located in either the Auckland or Canterbury regions.
Spokeswoman Vanessa Taylor says 11 of the regions are seeing record highs in asking prices.
She says the big standout is the Central Otago/Lakes District which hit an average asking price of more than a million dollars.
Taylor says that's the first time that's happened.
