Around a hundred staff are expected to lose their jobs at Unitec in Auckland
4 September 2018
It's part of a range of cost savings announced a while ago.
Unitec corporate communications manager Nick Wilson says people like
administrators and cleaners will also be affected, not just academics.
He says the institution is in the middle of a process, so 100 job losses is a
ball park figure, not a concrete one.
Wilson says around five percent of courses won't be accepting more enrolments
from next year.
He's assuring current students they'll be able to complete their courses.
