    Workers at OceanaGold's Waihi mine are going on strike from tonight


    They'll down tools for 48 hours, as part of a campaign for better pay and conditions.

    It's the first of a series of planned stoppages, and the E tu union is pushing for a new roster to reduce what is says are excessive hours.
