Nightingale injured his elbow against the Bulldogs three weeks ago, and with the former Kiwis player retiring at the end of the season it may have prematurely ended his career.
However, the wing should be fit to play next week and will play if the Dragons win against the Rabbitohs.
Meanwhile Sharks centre Josh Dugan has also been ruled out of his side's elimination final against the Panthers tonight with a shoulder injury.
