Despite shooting at less than 28-percent from the field, New Zealand forced key turnovers late in the game with consecutive free throws from Shea Ili and Reuben Te Rangi proving decisive.
Tall Blacks assistant coach Mike Fitchett says while they struggled to hit shots, they wore Lebanon down.
Fitchett says a group of players came through who can be trusted to do the job.
The win sees the Tall Blacks sit top of the Asian qualifying group.
