Drug companies accused of avoiding millions of tax dollars in New Zealand

Oxfam has analysed the financial disclosures from Pfizer , Merck, Johnson & Johnson and Abbott, between 2013 and 2015.

Executive Director Rachael Le Mesurier says the analysis suggests these four companies are shifting profits out of New Zealand into tax havens that charge little or no tax .

She says there's something like 21-million dollars missing from tax revenue.

Le Mesurier says it could be the equivalent of employing 400 newly graduated much needed nurses, as well as support for schools and infrastructure.
