Aurora Energy say 650 customers in the Queenstown area still don't have power after extreme snowfall yesterday damaged lines.
General manager of operations John Campbell says crews have been working late into the evening in challenging conditions.
He says he understands how difficult it must be, but they're doing everything they can to get the power back on.
Campbell says power should be restored in Fernhill later this afternoon, but people in Glenorchy may have to prepare for another night without power.
