Westpac's Chief Economist says despite consumer confidence figures - we're not heading for a recession

The Westpac Consumer Confidence Index fell 5.1 points in September - reaching its lowest level in six years.
Dominick Stevens says consumer confidence is only one indicator for the economy - and optimists still outnumber pessimists.
He says the way people answer surveys and how they behave with their money is completely different.
He says it's important to look at hard data before deciding if we're heading for a serious downturn.
