The Council of Trade Unions wants changes made to New Zealand's tax system, and believes the rich should be contributing more

An interim report by the Tax Working group,has pointed to obvious gaps in New Zealand's tax system.
Now the council is calling on the government to listen to the public around how to better the tax system.
Council Secretary Sam Huggard, says the primary focus of the tax system should be to help people on low to middle incomes get ahead.
He says there's a growing concern among New Zealanders people who are wealthy, aren't contributing their fair share.
