Welfare concerns have scrapped the proposed league match between Tonga and New Zealand Maori next month

The Rotorua match was canned last week, with some clubs pushing back over releasing players.
The New Zealand Herald reports the Rugby League Players Association also raised some issues, while the NRL didn't want to commit significant resources to the match.
There are plans for a New Zealand Maori match in 2019, aside from the pre-season All-Stars game already announced.
