Jane Watson's determined to make the most of her opportunities in the black dress, even if it's at the expense of a good friend

Jane Watson's determined to make the most of her opportunities in the black dress, even if it's at the expense of a good friend

The Silver Ferns defender has partnered Katrina Grant in the defensive circle so far in the Quad Series, after Tactix teammate Temalisi Fakahokotau was ruled out with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

    Watson didn't realise she'd be a beneficiary.

She says it didn't cross her mind that she'd be asked to make the switch, but she's glad it crossed new coach Noeline Taurua's mind.

The Silver Ferns face Australia in their final quad series match from 3pm in Melbourne.
