Outlets like the BBC are using headlines, suggesting the needles were found in "New Zealand strawberries" or "Auckland strawberries", rather than from Australian imported berries.
Strawberry Growers executive manager Michael Ahern says New Zealand growers are already concerned that New Zealand will be tarred with the Australian brush.
