Windies coach Stuart Law has resigned and will take up the head coaching job at English county side Middlesex from next season.
Law will begin his new job in January following the West Indies' tours of India and Bangladesh.
The Black Caps needed to replace Mike Hesson after he resigned in June, with Gary Stead starting the job earlier this month.
The cricket World Cup starts on May 30th.
