The Government has taken steps to ensure America's Cup infrastructure is here to stay

This comes after plans for Auckland to host the cup sailed through the Environment Court - with resource consent granted four weeks ahead of schedule.
Economic Development Minister David Parker says it's important to future-proof, so one condition is not having to repeat the process.
He says council is contributing - with Auckland taxpayer's money, on the condition that the facilities remain after the Cup for future events.
