The country will continue to reap the benefits of the America's Cup - long after the event ends

So says Economic Development Minister David Parker after plans for Auckland to host the Cup have sailed through the Environment Court.
Resource consents have been granted four weeks earlier than expected which means construction could be under way by the end of this year.
David Parker says the long-term benefits are extensive.
He says the legacies for Auckland include more areas like this for future events, economic benefits from extra tourism and the promotion of yachting industries.
