Illegal squatters living rent-free in $2 million Auckland house - landlord has no option but to wait
Illegal squatters are living rent-free in a two-million dollar, seaside house in one of Auckland's plushest suburbs - and the landlord has no option but to wait
28 September 2018
Landlord Nina Zhao asked her tenants to leave, only to discover they had illegally sublet the place to four families.
Now they are refusing to move, are not paying rent - and Zhao doesn't even known their names.
Andrew King from The Property Investors Federation, says Zhao has to wait two weeks before bailiffs can kick them out.
He says it's already been two months - they'll end up having ten weeks of free accommodation.
