    Nelson Bays Police are appealing for possible witnesses to a sexual assault overnight in a parked car


    The incident occurred about 1.30 this morning, in a silver car parked in Buxton car park.

    A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene and has been charged with rape.

    CCTV footage shows another man, who is not believed to be connected to the incident, walking towards the parked car.

    The victim was seen getting out of the car and going towards the man, who police believe helped the victim seek assistance.

    Police would like the man to come forward, while they also seek other witnesses.
