New research has found drivers are distracted for almost half of the time they're behind the wheel

Every 96 seconds people's mind wander off to something else but the road ahead, and most the time it's because people had been texting, on a call, or engaging in personal hygiene.
Professor Ann Williamson, who co-authored the study in Australia, says the major issue is when your visual attention is on something other than the road ahead.
She says drivers need to be monitoring and keeping an eye on the road in case of hazards or tricky incidents
