A coroner has confirmed Havelock North's water contamination resulted in the death of pensioner Jean Sparksman

A coroner has confirmed Havelock North's water contamination resulted in the death of pensioner Jean Sparksman

The 89 year old was found dead in her retirement complex apartment in August 2016.

In a report out today, Coroner Peter Ryan says he's satisfied she died as a result of becoming infected with campylobacter.

She had pre-existing conditions that made her more susceptible to the effects of the bug.
