Jeet Raval's been practising in the land of his birth to prepare for next month's cricket test series against Pakistan in the UAE

The New Zealand opener headed to India in August to partake in a spin-bowling camp and immerse himself in the Hyderabad club scene.

The idea was to familiarise himself with the conditions expected in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and improve against the turning ball on slow wickets.

He says it was a chance to mould his game, as he needs a different skill set in those conditions.

Raval will play for Auckland against Central Districts in their second Plunket Shield match starting today at Eden Park Outer Oval.
