Apparently cricketer Tim Southee's latest injury did not come from his bowling workload

Apparently cricketer Tim Southee's latest injury did not come from his bowling workload

The fast bowler has missed the opening two rounds of the Plunket Shield with an irritation in his right knee.

But, as Black Caps bowling coach Shane Jurgensen explains, it occurred through a mishap closer to home.

He says Southee had himself in a position while holding his baby for too long and gave his knee a tweak as a result.

Jurgensen says it's certainly a unique situation.

He believes Southee will be fit for New Zealand's opening match of their United Arab Emirates tour against Pakistan at the end of the month.

Yesterday he took two wickets playing for Northern Districts A in a 50-over match.
