Aaron Taylor-Johnson's work is a "luxury"

The 28-year-old actor - who has daughters Wylda, eight, and Romy, six, with director spouse Sam Taylor-Johnson - only takes on one project a year and likes to spend the rest of his time with his kids and freeing up his wife so that she can work too

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the UK premiere of 'Outlaw King' at Leicester Square on Wednesday night (17.10.18) he said: "We always travelled together as a family and I do one thing a year and that's the luxury.

"I get to work for three months and then get the other nine months to be with my kids and doing those things and supporting my wife in what she wants to do so it's a really nice balance that we have.

The 'Kick-Ass' actor insists there is "nothing more important" than his family and he's grateful he can spend a lot of time with them.

He added: "There is nothing more important in your life than your family and having time to nurture your kids and I have a luxury where I can balance that right now so that's good."

Aaron's filmmaker wife Sam, 51, has previously spoken out against those who criticise the 23-year age gap between herself and her husband, insisting their marriage has been a lot more successful than her other romances.

She said: "If I gave a second thought to other people, I would be the unhappiest person, probably still in a miserable marriage.

"People like to talk about it. I'm like, 'Yeah, but it works better than my last marriage.' It's lasted longer than a lot of my friends' marriages. We're already a team. We are already parents that run our house, so when we work together it's the best."
