Repairs continue after a truck crash that closed State Highway One north of Wellington for about 17 hours

Repairs continue after a truck crash that closed State Highway One north of Wellington for about 17 hours

The truck, carrying chemicals, rolled early Friday morning, forcing a road closure between Pukerua Bay and Plimmerton.

NZTA's Mark Owen says it was a big day on the road for everyone who was stuck.

He says they'll be seeing what lessons can be learned from the closure.

Owen says they have repairs to make to the road surface next week - and then it'll be back open and running normally.

A Greater Wellington Regional Council spokesperson confirmed there was no environmental impact from chemical runoff on a nearby protected wetland.
