Dame Helen Mirren doesn't "care that much" about the royals - but loves Queen Elizabeth II

The 73-year-old actress is often hailed for her portrayal of the 92-year-old monarch in 2006 film 'The Queen', but has said that whilst she is a fan of the royal, she would call herself a "queenist" rather than a "royalist", because she doesn't care about the rest of the royal family.

Speaking to the new issue of Harper's Bazaar, she said: "I don't care that much, though I do watch [Netflix series] 'The Crown'. I just think it's beautifully realised... In her old age, [the queen] has that indomitable spirit. I love her. I'm not a royalist; I'm a queenist."

Helen's comments come after she recently dismissed the idea of taking on the royal of the monarch for a second time, as she worries people will think she and the Queen are the same person.

The 'Winchester' actress - who has also played King George III's wife Queen Charlotte in 1994 movie 'The Madness of King George' - said: "I wanted to kind of get away from that. I like to move forward, not back. It's wonderful that I [portrayed Queen Elizabeth twice], it was wonderful that it was a success, but I didn't want a headline when I'm knocked over by a bus to read 'The Queen Knocked Over by Bus.'"

And although she's given up playing the royal, she says she loved Claire Foy's work in the role on Netflix period drama 'The Crown'.

She added: "I think the show is incredibly accurate. I think Claire Foy was brilliant. I sent her an email congratulating her. It was fantastic."

Meanwhile, model turned actress Cara Delevingne also recently voiced her support for the British monarch, as she said she'd love to have a girl-to-girl chat with her.

She said: "I love her so much. There are many things I need to ask her, but I wouldn't be allowed."
