The Rugby League International Federation Board have agreed in principle on a new rolling calendar of matches for the next eight years.
A new competition, the Oceania Cup, will start in 2019 and see the Kiwis in a group with Australia and Tonga, with Samoa, Fiji and Papua New Guinea in the other.
It was also agreed the British Lions will tour down under to play the same sides, minus Australia.
The Oceania Cup will mirror the already existing European Championship and repeat in 2020 and 2022.
