Fourteen thousand ACC boxing claims in three years, along with three known deaths has some people worried, but not one expert

ACC researcher Doug King doesn't believe the statistics properly reflect what is actually happening with injuries relating to the sport.

Figures released online show boxing is no more dangerous statistically, than rugby.

King says ACC only records injuries as people put them down.

He says if people go to the gym to do boxing as part of their training, and get injured - then it's classified as boxing.

King says what's seen on the ACC forms, may not be what people think of as boxing in the ring.
