Businesses are coping fine with the teachers' strike, because they've had so much practice at it

The Employers and Manufacturers Association says it's only a day at a time for each region so at least in Auckland yesterday, things seemed to run fine.

A hundred thousand primary school students were off school yesterday.

EMA head Kim Campbell says employers work around their staff and it's hardly the first strike they've had to deal with.

He says anything longer than a day would need some more planned arrangements.
