A desperate plea to West Aucklanders for information about missing woman Michelle Simpson

Police are after dashcam or CCTV footage from anyone in the Wairere and Gregory Road area in Waitakere on Monday about 11:30am.

The 50 year old is 152cm tall, with cropped brown hair and she was wearing a gold cardigan, red dress and possibly a green/blue hat.

She has a mental impairment that causes her to become confused.

Inspector Bruce O'Brien says they don't suspect foul play - and are hoping someone saw her walking.

He says it's completely out of character for Simpson to leave her home alone and the member of the public who saw her said she appeared to be confused.
