Central Dunedin could soon have a new eco-friendly energy scheme
16 November 2018
The Dunedin City Council, Otago University and the Southern District Health Board have agreed to investigate developing a low-carbon energy system to provide cost-effective heating for the city's big energy users.
Council Chief Executive Sue Bidrose says the agreement represents a commitment to look at new clean-energy options for the central city - with real economic and environmental benefits.
She says this is the perfect time to get this rolling - with the construction of the new hospital and the planned centre city upgrade already underway.
