Maintenance work tomorrow will cut power to nearly five-thousand customers around Kaitaia, between 8am and 5pm.
Kauri Arms Tavern owner Mark Frost says the outages are becoming tiresome.
He says the power is cut for maintenance once a year, and he's forced to close for the day.
Diesel generators will supply electricity to around 2000 homes and Kaitaia businesses during the outage.
