Justice Minister Andrew Little has the backing of rape support groups to make cross examination less of an ordeal for victims of sexual assault

The Government's looking at ways to make trials easier for victims, who are being re-traumatised when being questioned by defence lawyers.
Executive Director at Rape Prevention Education Debbi Tohill says cross examination can make victims feel like they're going through the event again.
She says we have to keep in mind the victim is speaking in front of the defendant and often there can be a power imbalance between the two.
