Injured All Blacks flanker Sam Cane is targeting the last four or five rounds of Super Rugby in mid-May to make his return

Injured All Blacks flanker Sam Cane is targeting the last four or five rounds of Super Rugby in mid-May to make his return

Cane is recovering from fracturing his neck in last month's Rugby Championship test against South Africa in Pretoria.

He says the recovery will be slow.

Despite losses to the reigning Six Nations champions, the All Blacks and Blacks Fern remain top of the World Rugby Rankings.

A nod to the Plunket Shield for developing international quality cricketers.

Central Districts left-arm orthodox spinner Ajaz Patel has led New Zealand to a four-run test victory over Pakistan in Abu Dhabi.

He secured match figures of seven for 123, including five for 59 in the second innings.

Patel has topped the first-class wicket tallies for the last three seasons - taking 135 wickets at an average of 28.

Two goals in the final five minutes have earned the Netherlands a two all draw with Germany to book their place in the Nations League final four.

The result means the Dutch advance at the expense of world champions France to join hosts Portugal, England and Switzerland in the four- team finals in June next year.
