Kaiapoi North School won't miss out on Christmas

Kaiapoi North School won't miss out on Christmas

A South Island community's come together to make sure students at a school gutted by a suspicious blaze, will still have a Christmas parade float.

Nearly two weeks ago, the fire at Kaiapoi North School destroyed two classrooms and a year's worth of schoolwork by 51 children.

The Police investigation found a person whom they referred to youth aid.

Now donations from local businesses, a community grant, and an offer from the parade's organiser to build a float - means the school children will still be able to march down Kaiapoi's main street in the Santa Parade.
