    A cash offer for someone to stand against Wellington's Mayor Justin Lester in the next election


    Concert promoter Phil Sprey is putting up the money, saying the city needs someone who isn't killing the city.

    He says basic infrastructure is failing and projects like an arena and basin reserve flyover are taking too long.

    Sprey says he'll give 10-thousand dollars for campaigning to a suitable candidate willing to run against Lester.

    But the mayor himself thinks the city is doing pretty well - the economy is humming and he's growing events.
