Shane Archbold's waving goodbye to the road... for now

After being unable to secure a professional contract, the Kiwi rider has returned to the track, with the goal of riding in the Madison event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

However, Archbold says as the Olympics are less than two years away, it won't fill the rest of his sporting career.

He says be it during or post 2020, he wants to go back to being a professional road rider.

Fellow Kiwi rider Aaron Gate has also returned to the track.
