There are fears an anaesthetic gas used during cancer surgery might be causing the disease to return

The Herald Sun in Melbourne is reporting a research team there is to head an international study - which could lead to global change in practice.
It comes after a review showing those anaesthetised with inhaled gas had higher rates of their cancer returning than those under intravenous anaesthetic.
The Australian government is backing the research.
