Suspicions a cat killer is on the loose in Rotorua

Suspicions a cat killer is on the loose in Rotorua

Two pet felines have been shot and maimed in the past fortnight in Mamaku, and one has since died.

SPCA animal welfare inspector Talia Jenkins says it looks as if someone tried to deliberately harm the cats with a firearm.

Jenkins says they are well-loved family pets and is appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

It follows a fatal shooting of a cat in the area in September, which was investigated by police.
