Ajaz Patel's been given the nod as the only spinner for the Black Caps two test cricket series against Sri Lanka

Ajaz Patel's been given the nod as the only spinner for the Black Caps two test cricket series against Sri Lanka

Despite taking seven wickets in his only match, the third test win over Pakistan in Abu Dhabi, offspinner Will Somerville's been overlooked.

Legspinner Ish Sodhi and wicketkeeper Tom Blundell have also been dropped, while uncapped Central Districts batsman Will Young's been included.

A change of partner awaits, but Warriors half Blake Green expects little change in his role.

Following the departure of Shaun Johnson, Green is without someone to control the team around the park next NRL season.

Green says regardless of whoever comes in, he won't become the flashy player.

There's an air of confidence among the New Zealand men's hockey team despite a largely unconvincing World Cup to date.

The Black Sticks finished third in Pool A and cross over with Pool B runners up England overnight for a place in the quarter finals.
