NZTA's chairman says Fergus Gammie wasn't pushed - and the decision to resign was completely his own

The chief executive resigned earlier this week, saying he didn't want to be a distraction as the agency tried to fix its regulation system.
Michael Stiassny says it was becoming increasingly hard for Gammie, as questions were being raised by the media about his future.
He says a new CEO will bring a clean perspective.
