Shoppers are set to be out in full force. . as Christmas creeps closer

Retail New Zealand says December had a quiet start, but shopping is ramping up.

General Manager Greg Harford says this week's wet weather kept some shoppers away.

He expects there will be somewhat of a flurry this weekend so the pressure will be on for retailers.

Harford is urging shoppers to be patient and kind to retail staff, to help them get through the busy patch.
