A number of checkpoints were set up across the city... stopping over three and a half thousand vehicles.
Police say 31 drivers were found to have excess breath alcohol, but most motorists were well behaved.
Prizes were handed out by Warriors players to sober drivers and those who had made arrangements to get home safely.
CEO of the Warriors, Cameron George, says he was pleased the club played its part in helping spread the sober driving message this festive season.
