Black Caps coach Gary Stead is indicating changes are unlikely for the Boxing Day test against Sri Lanka

Black Caps coach Gary Stead is indicating changes are unlikely for the Boxing Day test against Sri Lanka

While the batting appears clear cut, the bowlers struggled without reward all through day four of the first test in Wellington.

It's their fifth test match in the last five weeks but Stead says the bowling unit remains fresh.

An ominous warning from retiring Spanish tennis star David Ferrer to the Next Generation ahead of the 2019 season.

He expects Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer to again dominate the Grand Slams.

The four times former champion will make one final appearance at Auckland's ASB Classic next month.

Kiwi cyclist Aaron Gate is hoping to have the best of both worlds in 2019.

Gate made a return to the velodrome competing in the Madison at the recent World Cup event in London, and has signed with a road cycling team EvoPro Racing for next year.

He says despite having his road career confirmed, he still plans to race for New Zealand at the Tokyo Olympics.
