An historic moment for the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race

For the first time in the race's 73-year history, an all-female team will tackle the Bass Strait.

The Ocean Respect Racing team, who will be manning the Wild Oats X yacht, includes two Kiwis in Bianca Cook and Keryn McMaster.

Cook says although it's a special moment, she doesn't want the public to view the team any differently.



The race gets underway at 3pm.
