Out of all his career achievements to date, one is a glaring standout for Glenn Ashby

The Australian-born sailor's been made a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the sport.

Ashby was Team New Zealand's skipper during their 2017 America's Cup triumph in Bermuda.

He says when he thinks about the final race that won them the cup it still sends shivers down his spine.

Ashby says he's been involved in a lot of other fantastic events like the Olympics, but to do what they did in a group environment can't be brought.

Glenn Ashby's currently helping Team New Zealand with their preparations ahead of the 2021 America's Cup.
