Hutt Hospital says the safety and security of its staff is paramount

A 27-year-old woman is accused of assaulting four hospital staff on Boxing Day.

She's appeared in Hutt District Court today entering no pleas to the four assault charges and has been remanded in custody.

She has interim name suppression.

In a statement a hospital spokesperson says they have orderly security present in the hospital.

They say every incident is dealt with as it occurs and appropriate action is urgently taken.
