Fired Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor, accused of murdering Australian life coach Justine Damond in an alley shooting, has revealed he will use a "defence of others" strategy at his April trial

Fired Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor, accused of murdering Australian life coach Justine Damond in an alley shooting, has revealed he will use a "defence of others" strategy at his April trial

Noor's lawyers re-affirmed in a filing to the Minnesota District Court that Noor would plead not guilty to second and third-degree murder charges and would claim "self defence" and "reasonable force".

The new filing adds "defence of others" as Noor's fourth defence for his April 1 trial in Minneapolis.

Noor's partner, Officer Matthew Harrity, was in the driver's seat of their police squad car just before midnight on July 15, 2017, when Ms Damond approached Officer Harrity's open window in the darkness.
