    Two Australian tennis players have had near-ideal preparation for the start of their home Grand Slam


    Alex de Minaur has won the men's Sydney tennis International final, beating Italy's Andreas Seppi 7-5, 7-6 in the decider.

    Compatriot Ash Barty has fallen short of making it an Aussie double though.

    She's lost 1-6, 7-5, 7-6 to Czech Petra Kvitova in the the women's final.

    The Australian Open in Melbourne starts tomorrow.
