    Waimakariri and Selwyn Districts are continuing to boom, according the latest figures from Statistics New Zealand.


    Housing consents dropped in Christchurch from 221 in November 2017 to 208 in 2018.

    New Dwellings in Waimakariri rose from 42 in 2017 to 62 in 2018..

    Selwyn also rose from 84 to 98.

    Nationally, Auckland drove the increase, with 12,800 new homes consented - taking the national total to almost 33 thousand.
