For the second consecutive game, New Zealand has lost to the Roses by 13 goals, this time in their opening match of the Northern Quad Series in the UK.
But Ferns assistant coach Deb Fuller thinks it's not an accurate reflection of where they're at.
She says they matched England with the pace of the game, but the finesse is what's the big difference at the moment.
The Silver Ferns play Australia on Sunday.
